The Bingham Library Trust Ltd is a newly formed charity and company limited by guarantee with the role and remit of managing the legacy bequeathed in 1905 by philanthropist Daniel George Bingham.
‘For the benefit of Cirencester, to advance public education, the arts and music. Also to provide facilities for recreation or leisure, in the interests of social welfare, to improve life for people who live in or visit the area and/or people who have particular needs by reason of youth, age, infirmity, disability, poverty or social and economic circumstances.’
The Trust is looking for new Director Trustees to join the team at Bingham House, who have the skills, knowledge and professional attributes to help take the Trust forward alongside the effective and efficient stewardship of the Trust’s commercial property, community C-Hub, annual art exhibition, investments and archived assets.
The Board of Director Trustees meet at least four times a year, in addition to holding an annual public meeting. Invariably meetings take place at Bingham House on a Tuesday at 4pm; recently meetings have been held remotely using zoom. Overall, the estimated minimum time commitment is around six half days per annum plus reading and preparation time for meetings.
