Guest Artist @ the LIC

The Bingham Library Trust are working in partnership with Cirencester Town Council’s Local Information Centre (LIC)  to provide a Guest Artist display in the LIC at Bingham House.

The current guest artist is Laurie Plant.  Laurie Plant was born in Swindon in 1974. He currently works from an Art Studio in Cirencester, Gloucestershire and is based in the Cotswolds with his wife Andrea and their four year old son Finlay. Current projects include private architectural commissions about Bristol, Oxford and The Windfall sailing Yachts.

He has a Masters Degree in Art and Art History from the University of Wales, a 1st Class Honours Degree from Lancaster University and a Foundation Degree from Cheltenham University.

In 2015 he and his wife travelled around eight countries in Asia, drawing and painting continually, including architectural commissions in Hong Kong and Burma and teaching art in schools in Cambodia.

​His artwork is centred around explorations of people, places and architecture.

Plant has held teaching posts with the Universities of Bath and Wales and is always involved in different projects including: Commissions by consultation with public organisations and committees, private individuals, trusts, research, collaborations and residencies, talks, education and outreach and private or group tuition. Work with universities, HE. FE. CE. And also schools, galleries, churches, sculpture parks and museums; teaching across a broad spectrum of ages and levels.

Recent projects include an artwork for Conisbee Associates, Islington and private architectural commissions about Bristol and Oxford. His artwork is centred around people and the human body, places and architecture.  In addition to many other educational roles, Plant has held posts with the Universities of Bath and Wales.  https://www.laurieplant.com/

The LIC is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 4.30pm and Saturdays in August and September from 10am to 3pm.
